historic Stark Street Bridge Repair

In 2024 a series of vehicle crashes reduced the 110 year old retaining walls of the Stark Street Bridge to rubble. We were contracted to shotcrete and carve the new decorative facia for the retaining walls. It was imperative to match the existing masonry work that is prevalent throughout the Historic Columbia River Gorge Highway. This work could not have been achieved through conventional cast in place methods using form liners. Traditional masonry would have been cost and time prohibitive, thus making shotcrete the fastest and most cost efficient method available. Upon completion this project won the 2025 Oregon APWA Historical Restoration/Preservation Project of the Year Award. We are honored to be part of this award winning project.
